Indo–Thai CORPAT

  • Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy.
  • IN Dornier arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 5, 2019, for the conference for the 28th cycle of Indo-Thai CORPAT.
  • The CORPAT is genuinely reflective of the strong desire for the peaceful Indian Ocean safeguarded through good maritime order in the region.

SITMEX 2019

  • Maritime exercise amongst Singapore, Thailand, and India.
  • It is being held from May 16 to May 22, 2019. It was first initiated in 1993.
  • The aim is to enhance interoperability, strengthen mutual trust, and build greater synergy to address shared maritime concerns among both navies.

MAITREE-2019

  • Joint military exercise between India and Thailand.
  • India and Thailand conducted the military exercise from 16-29 September at Foreign Training Node, Umroi, in Meghalaya
  • The contingents of Indian Army and Royal Thailand Army (RTA) comprising of 50 soldiers each will participate in the exercise.

Yudh Abhyas 2019

  • Joint military exercise between Indian and U.S. armies from 05-18 September 2019.
  • This will be overall 15th edition of the joint exercise hosted alternately between the two countries
  • It will result in a higher degree of joint manship that will further facilitate interoperability between forces of both countries to meet any unforeseen situation.

Tiger Triumph

  • The first-ever tri-service joint exercise between India and the United States.
  • The exercise is being conducted from 13th-21st November 2019.
  • The exercise will be conducted off Visakhapatnam and Kakinada coasts in Andhra Pradesh
  • It aims to develop interoperability for conducting HADR operations.

Malabar 2019

  • Maritime exercise between India, Japan, and the United States.
  • It is the 23rd edition of the Trilateral Maritime Exercise MALABAR. 
  • It began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between India and the U.S.
  • Then it got permanently expanded into a trilateral format with the inclusion of Japan in 2015.

Counter-Terrorism Table-Top Exercise (CT-TTX)

  • First counter-terrorism exercise for "Quad" countries (U.S., India, Japan, and Australia). Between November 21, 2019, and November 22, 2019.

TSENTR 2019

  • Part of the Russian Armed Forces' annual training cycle.
  • Along with Russia, military contingents from China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan will take part.
  • The exercise aims at evolving drills of the participating armies and practising them in the fight against international terrorism, thereby ensuring military security in the strategic Central Asian region.
  • It will comprise two modules.
  • The first module will include counter-terror operations, repelling airstrikes, reconnaissance operations, and defensive measures, while the second will focus on offensive operations.

Nomadic Elephant

  • India-Mongolian joint military training exercise.
  • The 14th edition of India-Mongolia joint military exercise is being held from 5th to October 18 at Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh.
  • The Mongolian ArmyArmy is being represented by officers and troops of the elite 084 Airborne-Special Task Battalion while Indian ArmyArmy is being represented by a battalion of the RAJPUTANA RIFLES Regiment
  • It evolves various tactical drills in counter-terror environments such as Convoy Protection Drill, Room Intervention Drills, Ambush & Counter Ambush Drills.

BIMSTEC-DMEx 2020

  • The second BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise is a three-day exercise
  • It was attended by five out of seven member countries of BIMSTEC
  • The objective of the exercise is to discuss, standardization of protocol, formulation of policy and guidelines for the protection of heritage sites during a disaster and their conservation post-disaster
  • National Disaster Response Force Hosted BIMSTEC-DMEx 2020

Exercise SHAKTI

  • Biennial exercise between armies of India and France.
  • The edition will be conducted from October 31, 2019, to November 13, 2019, in Rajasthan, India. 
  • The exercise aims at enhancing understanding, cooperation, and interoperability between the two Armies.
  • The exercise will focus on Counter-Terrorism operations in a semi-desert terrain under United Nations Mandate.
  • The exercise will also have a 36 hours long validation, which involves neutralization of terrorists in the village hideout. 

Exercise Garuda-VI

  • Exercise between Indian and French Air Force.
  • It was hosted by French Air Force (FAF) from 01 to July 12 19 at Mont-de-Marsan France, was successfully completed.
  • The participating aircraft included four Su-30 MKI fighters besides one IL-78 and two C-17 aircraft.
  • It fosters a closer relationship between India and France so as to promote interoperability through the exchange of knowledge and experience.
  • It was unique, fascinating, and timeless learning at the exercise for the IAF contingent.

Exercise Surya Kiran- XIV

  • Joint military exercise between India- Nepal.
  • It is conducted in Nepal from 3rd- 16th December 2019.
  • The 13th edition of the exercise was held in Uttarakhand, India.

Exercise Mitra Shakti-VII

  • Joint military exercise between India-Sri Lanka.
  • The 7th edition of India-Sri Lanka joint military training exercise Mitra Shakti– 2019 was conducted in Pune from December 1, 2019, to December 14, 2019. 
  • The exercise aims to build and promote positive relations between armies of India and Sri Lanka for counter-insurgency & counter-terrorism operations in the urban and rural environment under the United Nations mandate.
  • The Mitra Shakti exercise began in 2013
  • The exercise is conducted annually as a part of military diplomacy and interaction between the armies of India and Sri Lanka.

SLINEX 2019

  • Maritime exercise between India and Sri Lanka.
  • It commenced on September 7, 2019, and will go on till September 14. 
  • Sri Lankan Navy has sent two offshore patrol vessels, namely SLNS Sindurala and SLNS Suranimala, to India to participate in the seventh annual Joint Indo-Lanka Maritime Fleet Exercise- SLINEX 2019.

Exercise SAMPRITI-IX

  • Military exercise between India and Bangladesh.
  • It was conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya from 3rd-16th February 2020
  • The 8th edition of the exercise was held at Tangail, Bangladesh.

Exercise Za'ir-Al-Bahr

  • Joint maritime exercise between the navies of India and Qatar.
  • It was being conducted between November 17 and November 21, 2019.
  • It was held for the first time. The exercise will include Air defense, Surface action, interdiction operation, maritime surveillance, and anti-terrorism.

Dustlik-2019

  • It is a first-ever jointmilitary exercise between India and Uzbekistan.
  • The exercise will be held at Chirchiq Training Area, Uzbekistan, between November 4 and November 13, 2019. From India, a 45-member contingent has been trained for this.

Hand in Hand

  • Military exercise between India and China.
  • The 8th India-China joint training exercise Hand-In-Hand 2019 is being conducted at Umroi, Meghalaya, from 7 to December 20, 2019.

Indra

  • Joint Tri-Services Exercise between India and Russia.
  • It was conducted in India from 10th-19th December 2019 simultaneously at Babina (near Jhansi), Pune, and Goa.

Exercise Indradhanush - V

  • The exercise was conducted between the Indian Air Force and Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom.
  • The 5th edition of India-UK joint Air Force Exercise ‘Indradhanush' began at Air Force Station, Hindan (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh) on February 24, 2020.

Ajeya Warrior-2020

  • Joint Military Exercise between India and the United Kingdom. It was conducted at Salisbury Plains, the United Kingdom from 13th-26th February 2020

IndSpaceEx

  • India's first-ever simulated space warfare exercise. It was held last week of July 2019.

MILAN 2020

  • Multilateral naval exercise hosted by the Indian navy.
  • MILAN (11th edition) was held in Visakhapatnam from 18th - 28th March 2020.         
  • More than 40 countries were expected to participate in the exercise in 2020.

Operation Him Vijaya

  • Conducted by the Indian Army to test offensive capabilities against China in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • The first phase was held between October 7 and October 10, 2019. The second phase was held between October 20 and October 24, 2019.

 Exercise Eastern Bridge

  • The exercise is conducted between the Indian Air force and Royal Air force of Oman
  • The Joint exercise was held in Oman
